Eat This My Friend Eat THIS! by Jade O’Donahoo – #1 The Italian Issue | Books & Mags

Eat THIS! is a zine created by food writer/author Jade O’Donahoo. Each issue has a cultural theme and will feature a collection of recipes, as well as family stories and traditions of that culture. All recipes are meat-free and have gf options, as this reflects the way she cooks and eats at home. 

The purpose of the zine is not only to highlight the traditional vegetarian meals from all cultures, but also to unite people through parallels between different cultures. Eat THIS! is intended to make cooking and food culture easy, accessible and appealing to all!

The first issue is Italian and feels particularly special as it reflects Jade’s own cultural heritage. More than 35 recipes, many collected from Jade’s own nonna, are presented across four chapters (Everyday Eating, Sundays and Celebrations, Sweets, and Cheers!), with handy tips, food traditions and family stories woven throughout. 

Jade hopes this zine inspires readers to look at their own family’s customs, and keep these precious traditions alive.
